The Eriskay Pony is a big part of our heritage on Eriskay as nearly every home had an Eriskay Pony. The ony is classified as critical on the Rare Breed Survival Trust Watchlist 2024 due to there being less than 300 breeding mares in existence worldwide. Because of this, CEE feel it is vital to share their history and work with The Eriskay Pony Society - Comann Each nan Eilean, at evryopportunity to raise awareness of the breed and encourage people to get involved in its preservation.

In July 2024, we held an Eriskay Pony Fun Day, organised in partnership with The Eriskay Pony Society - Comann Each nan Eilean, alongside MàiriAnna Chaimbeul from CnaG. The event was full of smiling faces, and everyone left with a better knowledge of the Eriskay Pony, its uses today and its heritage.

We are incredibly grateful for the contributions of all the helpers who made this year's event a success.  Together, we can work together to promote awareness and appreciation for the Eriskay Pony, ensuring its place in our culture for years to come.
